Kohli, IPL’s leading scorer, didn’t have a great run with the bat. He only managed 341 points in 16 matches with an average of 22.73. His strike rate was 115.99. Only one of his two half centuries has come in a winning cause.

There is no doubt that Kohli will stay with RCB until he wants to, but the franchise wants him to perform better next season. du Plessis is expected to be backed as captain for IPL 2023.
