The United States remains committed to supporting Azerbaijan’s efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen European energy security, Deputy Assistant Secretary Erika Olson said.
Olson made the statement on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and Azerbaijan, reports News.Az.
“As we look to the future, we remain committed to supporting Azerbaijan’s efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen European energy security, just as we look forward to strengthening trade, educational and cultural ties between our two countries. . We remain determined to support Azerbaijan’s efforts to strengthen respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. We will work with Azerbaijan and others in the region to lay the foundation for lasting peace,” the State Department official said.
“As we celebrate this landmark anniversary in our diplomatic relations, we are not only looking back, but also looking forward. We have been partners for 30 years and I am convinced that our partnership will carry us for decades to come. We look forward to working with Azerbaijan on a democratic, prosperous and peaceful future for all,” she added.
