Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has said the safety of the state’s residents remains his administration’s top priority, saying his administration strives to rid communities in the state of criminals and criminals.
Speaking during the presentation of the instrument of appointment and office staff to the new Alayede of Ayede-Ogbese, Oba Raphael Ajibola Oluyede, Akeredolu pledged that his administration would end all cult-related clashes in the Sunny state.
While instructing the new monarch to see his ascension to the throne as a call to serve his people and have a positive impact on their lives, the Governor said: “The state government has committed enormous resources to strengthen the Amotekun body in terms of equipment and human resources. According to him, “Our government cannot tolerate a situation where our citizens cannot conduct their business in a safe environment.
“However, we need your support and cooperation to make this possible. To this end, I implore you to always be sensitive to the strange movements / acts around you to enable us to tackle the threat of banditry, kidnappings and other forms of insecurity on our highways and communities.
“However, security issues should not be left to government alone. Rather, it should be a collective effort of every member of the community. May I also say that this community is endowed with a lot of resources? Kabiyesi should therefore rally eminent sons and daughters for the overall development of the community.
“Allow me, once again, to reiterate the state government’s commitment to provide basic infrastructure and amenities to our people.
