Building services assistant Mallory Warrington has a number of hidden talents. In addition to her work cleaning and managing residential communities, she’s a loving “dog mother” to two chocolate labs, Remy Rae and Emmy Mae, a graphic designer, a self-taught singer/songwriter – and her flair with vocals extravagant garnered him a shot on America’s Got Talent.
“The students and other employees have been incredibly nice,” says Warrington. “I love everything Denison stands for and his diverse workplace.”
When not at work, Warrington often hangs out with her dogs or plays the guitar. Listening to country artist Miranda Lambert inspired Warrington to learn to sing and play guitar: “I just had a girl-power moment and was inspired to try songwriting.”
His affinity with country music must run deep. She lived in Nashville for a while and on several occasions has been mistaken for singer Kelsea Ballerini, whom she knows. And although she hasn’t performed anywhere yet, Warrington has filmed some of her music and may well share it with the world – one day.
About this America’s Got Talent gig: “I took an introductory acting class in college and my teacher really liked this voice I did, so she signed me up for America’s Got Talent. Talent and even drove me to my audition.”
Warrington passed the audition process, but the actual performance was during her final and she dropped out of the competition. A secret behind the scenes: she was given a fake family, including a fake father who bragged about her. Warrington’s real father, Mike, is also very proud of her. “Mallory is very talented and has enormous potential. She makes me laugh every day.
