Jai Ram Thakur launches disaster management program

So said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the people at the launch of the week-long disaster management program “JUARE” (Joint United Action for Resilience in Emergencies). organized by Kullu District Administration in Atal Sadan, Kullu. , today.

He said efforts were being made by the state government to strengthen the disaster management system in the state. He appreciated the efforts of the Kullu District Administration to initiate an inspiring and ideal program for the state in the district. He said that the main purpose of this program is to educate the common man about the disaster and to train the leadership for rescue and relief at the time of the disaster. It is a unique initiative in itself, he added.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the JUARE program was based on community participation and was an ambitious program that would ensure the participation of village panchayats, urban local bodies, school students for community risk, and the preparation of resource maps and the identification of volunteers for civil protection in times of disaster.

He said that as part of this program, on World Environment Day on June 5, students from 206 schools in the district would raise awareness by performing dramas based on disaster management simultaneously. at the same time.

He also distributed prizes to winners of various events.
